Defy or Rely On AI in your 2025 Marketing Strategy?

Proactive professional marketers are strategically planning for the new year, the new-age marketing organization, and how AI team members can work optimally with human team members.

There’s a lot on the marketing line in 2025. It really is a make it or break it year - getting AI adoption just right, without alienating prospects and customers.

Where do you even start? How do you execute? How do you maintain current marketing programs and hit KPIs all while trying to figure out AI advancements and not waste too much time and money?

To help bring calm and focus to your 2025 marketing strategy and ensure all your marketing eggs are not going in the AI basket, think about this - to remain competitive in 2025 and beyond you must rely on the opportunity AI represents to marketing operations (Mops), however you also need to defy AI and continue to focus on why marketing exists in the first place, to connect with the human customer.

You need to both defy and rely on AI in your 2025 Marketing Strategy.

How? Rely on it with a solid Marketing AI Roadmap. Defy it by going to where AI isn’t. AI can’t replace human relationships.

Your customers are still human and they still want human connections. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of AI Agents and the role they play in marketing operations (upcoming blog post), but there’s an opportunity to stand out from your competitors by prioritizing human connections with in-person marketing events, community building with a customer conference, 1-1 in-person customer lunches, just to name a few. After all, with the proper implementation of AI Agents, your marketing team will have more time on their hands.
