The dust is settling but the ideas are still flowing after the Canadian Internet Marketing Conference last week. This was definitely our most successful conference to date. Our exhibitor booth was consistently full of great conversation with engaged attendees. The Apple Watch giveaway for collecting stamps on the RTOWN Loyalty app was spreading the networking vibes throughout the room (congrats again to @emilyjeanbriggs, taking home the watch).

This week we had the opportunity to exhibit at BUILDEX Vancouver, Western Canada’s largest trade show and conference for the Construction, Renovation, Architecture, Interior Design and Property Management industries. The show took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre, green-designed, state-of-the-art facility on the waterfront which was the perfect location for this event. This was RTOWN's first time at the event and I think it is safe to say we will be back again next year.

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that numbers don’t lie. If you’re wondering whether or not social media is making an impact on your business, then it’s time to look at the numbers and find out. Google Analytics is a free tool that anyone who has a website can use. If your business doesn’t have a website yet, then you should really consider getting one today. If you don’t have an online presence then you’re going to miss out on many opportunities and new leads.

How to crown your social media content as a business. Content will always be king when it comes to engaging an audience. No matter where or what you are posting, you’re taking your audience on a journey. Good stories are what’s shareable, people want to feel something when they see it. This is why storytelling will always be a priority when it comes to marketing your brand effectively and resonating with your audience online. Being that we're in the Age of (too much) Information, a.k.a. the Digital Age, how does a business get their content to stand strong in the social media stampede?

As a small business owner you understand the importance of being present on social media and what it can do for your business, such as keeping you connected with your customers and furthering your brand awareness. However, there tends to be a misconception around the amount of followers one must achieve in order to be successful on social media. The more followers the better, right? Well, that’s not necessarily the case.
